ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Jules,

a 21-year-old artist originally from North Carolina. From a young age, I found my passion for art nurtured by attending neighborhood art classes and the loving support of my family. As the youngest of 5, I found my voice by scribbling on the walls, painting with my sister's makeup, and eventually showing in my local art galleries. Art served as a form of self-expression and coping mechanism for me as a child, providing solace and joy in times of both happiness and hardship.

However, as I grew older, life's responsibilities took precedence, and I gradually lost touch with my artistic side. It wasn't until tragedy struck in 2019 with the sudden loss of my older brother, Sam, in a traffic accident, that I found myself drawn back to art with an insatiable need to express my grief. All I wanted to do after he passed was draw his face, igniting a spark of creativity within me that had lain dormant for over five years.

Art became my sanctuary, a place where I could channel my emotions and find solace amidst grief and loss. Through each stroke of the brush, I discovered a profound sense of comfort and joy, reigniting my passion for creating.

As for my family, we've been scattered throughout the country, but it's slowly growing. My sister is preparing for her first baby, bringing new joy and love into our lives. Additionally, I'm thrilled to share that I'll be marrying my perfect partner, Jon, in October, embarking on a new chapter of love and togetherness.

Presently, I am fortunate to work at a religious art gallery in downtown Provo, where I curate shows, illustrate graphic designs for social media, and connect with remarkable artists. It's a role that allows me to share stories through art and inspire others on their creative journeys.

Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to establish a studio in my home, a haven where individuals of all ages can explore their creativity. Through daily classes and workshops, I hope to foster a community that embraces mistakes as natural elements of artistic expression and encourages growth.

Join me as I continue to share my passion for art and inspire others to discover the transformative power of creativity. Welcome to Art At Home with Julia, where every creation is a reflection of the heart and soul.
