MELBOURNE MUSIC WEEK EVENT
a journey of ambient and psychedelic music in complete darkness
Listen to Dark Space Project
As part of Melbourne Music Week, Dark Space Project will be unhinging the senses in a live, improvisational journey into experimental, ambient and psychedelic music. In pitch black, your mind will focus on a soundscape of modular synthesisers, loops, guitars, drums, bass and violin. Without the usual visual distractions, all you will see is music. With every note and every beat, a new discovery of textural and harmonic nuance.
With support from experimental cellist and electronic artist Hextape and 70’s inspired progressive folk songwriter James Teague.
In 2016 we got together with Amelia Mcqueen and Cobie Orger to produce a three act performance - Low-Fi Bedroom Rock - for the Melbourne Fringe Festival - that combined music and dance featuring ambient synthesizer loops, drone and zero input mixing. Performed in three acts it was curated by Adnan Laala with musicians from Niko Niko, Adnan and the Whale and Write in Binary.
