We had another great turnout for our Winter World Series. Our Orange Team won the series in dominating fashion, captained by seniors Austin Mantz, Brodie Fulghum, and Ryan Bartley. As is tradition our players brought in toys and we donated them to our local McDonald House.
Our Winter World Series was won by our Orange Team that was Captained by Senior Anderson Hanes. We also continued our tradition of bringing in toys for the Ronald McDonald House to help spread some joy during the holiday season.
We were excited to continue our new tradition of supporting our local Ronald McDonald House during the holiday season by dropping off toys for the families.
Our Winter World Series went a thrilling 5 games, and had showcased our most talented and biggest depth of rosters of all time! The Blue Team came away victorious winning the final 3 games lead by the Winter World Series MVP, Senior Will Gilbert.
Every year since 2017 we have played our Winter World Series, which has become a best 3 of 5 game series against each other to be crown the champion of the offseason and the winners get their names engraved on our trophy. This year we started a new tradition with our Winter World Series by making toy donations to Ronald McDonald House just in time for the holiday season. We have had previous years of donating toys to the Ronald McDonald House (with a school donation drive in 2020 or apart of our Yellow Laces Game in 2019), but we are thrilled to have the Winter World Series be apart of our donations of toys for the future.
Athens Drive High School wanted to donate toys to our local community.
Athens Baseball was excited to be a big part of this project and felt this was a great way to help our community especially because of the Covid-19 restrictions.
