IRIS

"Iris" is a comic I've been working on since 2021. It's in its first stages of development because I'm a low-key perfectionist with the details, but I strive to weave a compelling story that people of all ages will enjoy!

Synopsis

Upon the land of Theana, a centuries-long curse known as Rancorahm has awakened from its slumber once again to continue its goal of corrupting all life. But the danger is heightened when ghostly creatures of unknown origin suddenly appear, infecting the innocent people of the kingdom of Auroris, which causes the curse to grow stronger.

With no time to lose, the kingdom sends its youngest prodigy mage — Iris, the next chosen Great Healer — alongside her appointed protector and escort — Sol Clivere, a jaded huntsman — on a secret mission to the very heart of Rancorahm, where Iris may purify and send it to sleep, hopefully for good. But their travel will not be so simple, especially with another threat looming in the distance and the shadowy beasts lurking everywhere, ready to strike at their weakest.

Will Iris and Sol be able to make it to their journey’s end and stop the curse from spreading, or will they be too late?

Personality: Reserved, standoffish, strong-minded, pragmatic
Wish: To have a home to return to.

"If nothing else, this life I'm given is just one tragedy after another where Fate just tugs me along like a dog. But I won't let it or anyone else do that to me again. I'm living my life for me."

BACKGROUNDS AND SETTINGS

Most of the settings are heavily inspired by my favorite comic, Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi, because of the unique style and aesthetic. I love coming up with the names and designs of these places, too!

If this story has piqued your interest, thank you so much! As of now, Iris is in hibernation; progress is halted until I have an abundance of free time, money, and maybe - hopefully - improved equipment for drawing. But I'm still adding onto the development, just in small doses, like character quirks, story beats, side-plot bunnies, etc.

I really do hope to publish this story one day and bring smiles on people's faces!
