Ayurveda has rightly emphasized that human health is not merely the absence of disease, but a state of complete balance — where the Agni (digestive fire), Dosha (body energies), Dhatu (tissues), and Mala (metabolic wastes) function in perfect harmony. True health also includes the well-being of the Indriyas (sense organs), Prasanna Atma (contented soul), and Manas (mind).
The three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — represent the body’s key systems:
Vata – governs movement and the nervous system
Pitta – controls metabolism and transformation
Kapha – maintains nourishment and stability
When this delicate balance among the doshas is disturbed, disease manifests. The primary objective of Ayurveda, especially through Panchakarma therapy, is to restore this natural equilibrium and rejuvenate the body from within.
Panchakarma literally means “five actions” (Pancha – five, Karma – procedures). These classical Ayurvedic detoxification therapies eliminate accumulated toxins after proper internal oleation and preparation. The five main procedures are Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (purgation), Basti (enema), Nasya (nasal therapy), and Raktamokshana (blood purification).
At Atharva Ayurveda & Wellness Clinic, our Panchakarma treatments are unique because they incorporate preventive, curative, and rejuvenative aspects of Ayurveda. Each therapy is customized according to an individual’s Prakriti (constitution) and health condition, ensuring the highest therapeutic benefits.
Our protocols are guided by the classical Ayurvedic regimens such as Dinacharya (daily routine), Rutucharya (seasonal regimen), Vega Dharana (control of natural urges), and Rasayana & Vajikarana (rejuvenation and vitality therapies) — promoting complete wellness and longevity.
Whether you seek relief from chronic ailments, wish to detoxify your body, or desire a deep rejuvenation experience, Atharva Ayurveda & Wellness Clinic offers a peaceful healing environment where ancient Ayurvedic wisdom meets modern wellness care.
Experience the purity of Panchakarma — a journey toward balance, clarity, and renewed vitality — only at Atharva Ayurveda & Wellness Clinic.
According to Ayurveda, the body can be divided into regions that require purification — the head, gastrointestinal tract, and the upper and lower body. To cleanse and rejuvenate all these systems, Ayurveda prescribes five primary detoxification therapies, collectively known as Panchakarma (Pancha – five, Karma – actions).
At Atharva Ayurveda & Wellness Clinic, each of these Karmas is performed under the expert supervision of Dr. Basavrajeswari B (BAMS, MD – Panchakarma), ensuring authenticity, safety, and maximum therapeutic benefit.
VAMANA (Therapeutic Emesis)
# 1
In this procedure, the patient undergoes internal and external oleation (Snehana) and fomentation (Swedana) for a few days to loosen and mobilize toxins. When the toxins accumulate in the upper part of the body, specially prepared herbal emetics are administered to induce controlled vomiting.
This process effectively expels excess Kapha and toxins from the body.
Recommended for: Kapha-dominant disorders like asthma, chronic cough, obesity, sinusitis, and hyperacidity.
Virechana (Purgation Therapy)
# 2
Here, toxins are eliminated through the lower digestive tract. After appropriate oleation and fomentation, the patient is given natural purgative medicines to cleanse the intestines and liver.
This treatment primarily balances the Pitta dosha, improving digestion and skin health.
Recommended for: Pitta-related disorders like liver diseases, jaundice, skin allergies, psoriasis, colitis, and acidity.
Basti (Medicated Enema)
# 3
Considered the most effective treatment for Vata disorders, Basti involves administering medicated oils, herbal decoctions, or ghee into the rectum.
This therapy nourishes the colon, regulates Vata, and rejuvenates the entire body.
Recommended for: Arthritis, back pain, joint stiffness, sciatica, constipation, and neurological conditions.
Nasya (Nasal Therapy)
# 4
In Nasya therapy, the head, neck, and shoulder areas are gently massaged and steamed, followed by the administration of medicated oil or herbal drops through the nostrils.
This clears toxins from the head region, improving brain function and respiratory health.
Recommended for: Sinusitis, migraine, headache, insomnia, hair fall, facial palsy, and other neurological disorders.
Raktamokshana (Blood Purification)
# 5
Raktamokshana is the process of purifying the blood to remove toxins responsible for various skin and inflammatory conditions. Depending on the condition, it can be performed locally or for the entire body.
Recommended for: Psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, pigmentation, and other skin or blood-related disorders.
