This Privacy Policy explains how the AthanTimings application ("the app", "we", "our") handles information. Please read it carefully. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.
Summary in plain language: The app does not require an account, does not collect personal information on a server, shows no ads, and does not sell or share your data for marketing. Your settings stay on your device. Your location, if you choose to use it, is used only to calculate prayer times and to look up your city and timezone, and is not stored by us.
The app is designed to work without collecting personal data. The only information involved is:
Your preferences (selected city, language, theme, calculation method, adhan settings). These are saved locally on your device only so the app reopens the way you left it. They are never transmitted to us and we cannot see them.
Your location (optional). If you tap "Use my current location", the app reads your device's GPS coordinates with your permission. This is used solely to calculate prayer times and to determine your city name and timezone. We do not store your location, and you can use the app without location by selecting a city manually.
There are no user accounts and no sign-in.
We operate no server that receives or stores your information.
We do not use advertising or marketing trackers.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.
To provide certain features, the app sends limited technical requests to the following third-party services. When it does, those services may receive your IP address and the specific request (for example, coordinates or a city name) as part of normal internet operation. Each has its own privacy policy:
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — used to search for cities and to look up a city name from coordinates. (privacy policy)
TimeAPI.io — used to determine the correct timezone for a searched location so prayer times are accurate.
These requests are only made to provide the feature you are using (for example, the timezone of a searched city is requested only when you search). We do not control these third parties and encourage you to review their policies.
Location — requested only when you choose to detect your location. You may decline, and the app remains fully usable by selecting a city manually.
Notifications — if enabled, used only to alert you at prayer times. No notification content is sent to us or any third party.
The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Because preferences are stored only on your device and we operate no server, there is no central database of user information to be breached. Requests to third-party services are made over secure (HTTPS) connections.
Prayer and fasting times shown in the app are based on astronomical calculations and may vary depending on the calculation method selected. They are provided for convenience and may differ from your local mosque or community. Please verify timings with your local masjid or city, particularly for fasting.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
