This Privacy Policy explains how Athan.Deen Companion (the "App"), developed by an independent developer ("we", "us"), handles information when you use the App. The App is a Muslim prayer companion for Android providing prayer times, Qibla direction, an Islamic (Hijri) calendar, and Adhan notifications. We built the App to work with as little personal data as possible: there is no account, no sign-in, and no personal profile stored anywhere by us.
Location data. With your permission, the App reads your device's approximate or precise location (fine/coarse location) to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. You can also skip this and enter a location manually. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is cached locally in the App's own storage so prayer times keep working offline — it is never transmitted to us or stored on any server we control.
Advertising data. The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location, IP address, and general interest/demographic signals to select and measure ads. This collection is performed by Google, governed by Google's own privacy policy (linked below), not by us directly.
What we do not collect. The App does not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying information. We do not sell personal data.
Prayer times and Qibla direction — your location (or manually entered city) is used on-device to calculate the five daily prayer times and the compass bearing to the Kaaba using standard astronomical formulas. No location data ever leaves your device for this purpose.
Notifications — the App schedules local Adhan notifications for the prayer times it calculates; this happens entirely on-device.
Advertising — AdMob uses the identifiers described above to serve and measure ads within the App, and to limit how often the same ad is shown.
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Purpose: Determining device location for prayer time/Qibla calculation

All of your App settings — location, calculation method, notification preferences, theme, language, and so on — are stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard app storage. We do not operate any servers that store this data, and we cannot see or access it. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage from Android's app settings, permanently deletes this locally stored data.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will address it.
Location permission — you can grant, deny, or revoke location access at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Athan.Deen Companion → Permissions. Denying it just means entering your location manually instead.
Ad personalization — you can limit ad tracking through your device's Google Settings → Ads (reset or delete your advertising ID, opt out of personalized ads).
Deleting your data — since everything is stored only on your device, uninstalling the App removes it completely. There is no account or server-side data to separately request deletion of.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the App gains new features. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
