This Privacy Policy describes how Athan ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Overview

Athan is a prayer times, adhan and Qibla app for iPhone and Android. It is developed and maintained by an independent developer.

The short version: Athan does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated on your phone.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, usage data or any other personal information. The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

3. Location

If you allow it, the App uses your phone's location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. This happens on your device and your location is never sent to us. To show the name of your city, or when you search for a city, the App uses your phone's built-in place service: Apple's map service (MapKit) on iPhone, or the Android geocoder (provided by Google) on Android. That service receives the location or search text to return place names, and its handling is covered by Apple's or Google's privacy policy. You can instead choose a city manually, and you can turn location access off at any time in your phone's settings.

4. Notifications and Alarms

Prayer alerts, reminders and adhan alarms are scheduled locally on your phone (iOS notifications and AlarmKit on iPhone; Android notifications and alarms on Android). No notification content is sent to us or to any server.

5. Data Stored on Your Device

Your settings (location, calculation method, alert choices, language and similar preferences) are stored only on your phone. They are removed when you delete the App.

6. Contacting Us

If you email us (for example using "Send feedback" in the App), we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as the app version, iOS or Android version, phone model and app language that the App pre-fills. We use this only to reply to you and to improve the App, and we do not share it.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
