ATOT Overview Presentation - This presentation includes information about the Alabama Teacher Growth Program, the Cognia Scoring Rubric, information on how to apply the scoring rubric to teaching scenarios and video lessons. 

CLAS AP Conference Presentation - This one-hour presentation includes information on how to apply the Cognia Scoring Rubric accurately and consistently and how to apply a six-step protocol when conducting a post-observation teacher conference.

Cognia Teacher Observation Tool User Guide - This document describes the process of logging into MyJourney and accessing the online version of the ATOT.

• ATLAS - This video database contains hundreds of video lessons submitted as part of their National Board certification process. To obtain a username and password, contact the Regional Inservice Center Director in your area. 

• Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Youtube Playlist - This collection of high-quality video lessons can be used to support and train classroom observers. 

  • Facilitates Use of Resources to Support Learners' Needs - In this video, the teacher uses a variety of resources (print, digital, and human) to support students' active engagement while learning about a high school biology topic. 

  • Provides Learners with Purposeful Feedback About Their Progress - In this video, the teacher moves about the room formatively assessing her students' ability to identify key details and find the main idea. The teacher can be observed questioning, prompting, and providing feedback to individual students. At the 06:20 mark, the teacher utilizes a graphic organizer to provide feedback to the entire class. 

  • Six Step Protocol - this video from UnCommon Schools shows how the observer can conduct a post-observation conference using a six-step protocol.
