MS536: Thin Film Processes

Graduate level

Semester: Fall 2024

This course introduces students to various methods for preparing thin films, techniques for characterizing them, and their physical properties. The course will cover topics such as gas kinetics, vacuum technology, deposition techniques, growth mechanisms, processing of thin films, characterization methods, epitaxy, lattice manipulation, metastable phases, engineered structures, and the mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and optical properties of films.
