As Overseer of Resilience, your role is to ensure the Colony is safe and its surrounds well scoped. Aside from supporting the Curator in any way you can, your Creed has three key priorities while holding this Office.
You are the only member of the Colony who is authorised to plan and launch Expeditions. It is your responsibility to consider the Colony’s resources, the destinations you have available to you, and (should you choose to launch an Expedition) which Creeds are best placed to take on the mission.
Importantly, it is your role to select the Leader of an Expedition - this Creed will be responsible for making decisions on events which may arise, or setting disputes/disagreements.
Obviously, the chosen Leader must be a Creed already involved in the Expedition.
While you and your fellow Creed members may not personally travel along with every expedition, their success is ultimately on your shoulders.
You are also held accountable for the safety of citizens within the Colony. Despite the grim world around, crime and debauchery are not entirely unheard of.
At the start of the game, the means to properly defend the Colony does not yet exist. However, the schematic for the Militia Hall does (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more).
Once built, ensuring this building is adequately resourced each Term is your responsibility. As the Overseer of Resilience, you’re encouraged to do whatever you must to get Creeds to volunteer resources to keep it operated, and thus keep the Colony safe and policed.
The consequence of not having the Militia Hall adequately manned will become apparent as the game proceeds.
At the start of each Term, no building in the Colony may be activated without first being assigned Power. This is done by physically allocating the model of the building a Power Cube, indicating it is fuelled by the Engine this Term.
This act should be your first priority as soon as the Reconciliation has concluded.
Only the Curator of Resilience may distribute Power Cubes. To do so, contact the Government Moderator and inform them how many cubes you need this Term.
Each Term, you have 18 Power Cubes to distribute, however the output of the Engine is known to fluctuate and this number may rise and fall during the game.
