Note: while event cards have proposed actions to pick from, the majority of them have a 'take an alternate approach' option which allows the decision-maker to invent their own path to resolution.
Events will usually require a certain quantity of resources be assigned to them in order to gain a particular outcome. Some events may have multiple outcomes, depending on which option is picked.
If no option is picked, events eventually expire, at which point the opportunity is missed or some calamity is likely to occur.
If a choice needs to be made, the Creeds/Players involved in resolving the event must all agree on which option is being chosen.
Some Events specify a certain Role or Creed to make this choice - when this is the case, the card will explicitly explain who is responsible for choosing the outcome (for example, the Curator).
In these cases, the decision maker does not necessarily need to be investing resources in the resolution action - they are simply relied on to make the choice.
Once an action to resolve an event is picked, the required resources must be allocated to the event for its entire Duration. If resources are removed at any time during resolution, the event expires.
Finally, if the event has a duration, an Event Moderator will begin a countdown timer to measure how long the required resources need to remain attached to the Event.
Once this timer has concluded, the Event is resolved - any outcomes are revealed by the Moderator and the card is removed from the game.
