Part of the training we provide for young dancers is to help them to understand the expectations of a professional level show. Even at our youngest ages, our dancers learn how to conduct themselves both on stage and off to create the best show experience for everyone. This begins with upholding our show standards. We appreciate your support in this!
All performers are asked to wear stage make-up. We believe every dancer is perfect just as they are and certainly do not need make-up in every day life. However, stage lighting is a whole different story and without stage make-up, dancers will look washed out and featureless on stage. Performers use stage make-up to enhance their own natural features.
We ask that all make-up be neutral tones (browns, pinks, etc) and based on the age of the dancer. We suggest that male dancers just use a little bit of bronzer to highlight their features. We ask all female dancers to have a light shadow, blush and lip color. Older dancers can wear more make-up for stage. You can find a quick tutorial for stage make-up below. This make-up brand or colors are not required, this is simply a suggestion for a great stage make-up look.
All dancers will wear their hair in an ATD bun for the show. Having the same consistent hairstyle gives a professional look on stage and helps dancers with multiple classes to change more easily.
We've given in to the center part trend! This year's dancers can do a center part for the ATD bun.
For our male dancers, we just ask for a clean style that is out of their face.
