Frequently Asked Questions

All parents have lots of questions about performances!  Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from dancers and their families about performing at our year-end recital.

Is my child in the show?

Yes!  All of our regular and team studio classes will perform in the show!  This is an exciting opportunity for all of our dancers to show their families and friends what they've learned in dance all year long! Each class is assigned to one of our two shows, be sure to check the CAST LISTS to see which show your dancer is performing in. Remember, if they are in more than one class, they may be in more than one show.

Are there extra rehearsals?

Yes! All dancers in the NEVER GROW UP....PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999 show are required to attend rehearsals the week of the show.

2:00-2:30 Acrobatic Arts II A & B

2:30-3:45 All Level 2 Classes

3:45-5:00 All Level 3 Classes

Wednesday, June 18th • at Willamette High School's Powers Auditorium

Thursday, June 19th • at the EUGENE STUDIO LOCATION 

Any dances that need additional help will be called in for extra rehearsal. All dancers should be available from 3:00-8:00 p.m. but will not need to be there the whole time.

When are the performances?

"NEVER GROW UP....PARTY LIKE IT'S 1999" performances will take place at Powers Auditorium on Friday, June 20th and Saturday, June 21st.

CAST A will perform at on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

CAST B will perform on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Where are the performances?

All of our Recital performances will be held at Powers Auditorium on the Willamette High School Campus at 1801 Echo Hollow Road in Eugene.

What is the cost for dancers to participate?

Your dancer's participation in the recital is covered in our inclusive tuition and no extra fees are required. 

How do we buy tickets?

Tickets will go on sale online June 1st at 10:00am.  All tickets are sold online. There are NO LIMITS on how many tickets each family can buy.  Please check the CAST LISTS lists to make sure you are buying tickets for the correct show.

Does my dancer need a ticket?

If your dancer is only performing in one act of the show, they can be picked up or dropped off at Intermission. If you wish for your dancer to be seated in the audience during the act they are not performing, they will need a ticket.

Please note:  After being properly checked in, dancers may only be picked up by a parent or guardian at Intermission or after the show.  Dancers cannot leave the backstage area without being checked out.

When should my dancer be there?

If your dancer will be in Act 1, you should plan to arrive and check in your dancer at least 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the show.  If your dancer is only in Act 2, they should be checked in prior to intermission.

Can I retrieve my dancer from backstage after he or she has performed?

For the safety and security of all dancers, dancers must be checked in and out of backstage areas.  Dancers must be checked in prior to the beginning of the show (or if only in Act 2, by intermission).  Dancers may only leave and be checked out by a parent or guardian at intermission and after the completion of the show.  Parents may not enter backstage at other times to check out dancers.

How will my dancer change costumes if I'm not backstage?

It's part of the magic of the recital!  We have many parent and student volunteers who help to make sure all dancers are changed and ready for their performance.  You can help us out by making sure all pieces of your dancer's costume(s) are labeled with his or her name and that they are wearing the correct undergarments since all areas are co-ed.

Can I be backstage?

Only if you are a parent volunteer. For the safety and security of all dancers, only parents who have signed up with us as a parent volunteer may be backstage during the show.  We encourage parents to volunteer backstage during show times and many parents help during a show.  If you'd like to be a backstage volunteer, simply CLICK HERE to sign up!

Where can I get tights?

Dancers must wear tights purchased through ATD so the colors match.  We advise parents to purchase all necessary costume pieces prior to the day of the event.  We will have some limited inventory on hand for sale, however, not all sizes or colors may be in stock.  Contact the ATD office to purchase tights ahead of time when possible.  CLICK HERE for more information about costumes, tights, and shoes!
