I am a junior undergraduate student in University of New Orleans majoring in biological sciences. My future goal is to become a physician. I joined the lab in fall 2020 and am currently learning as much as I can. Aside from school, I like to travel, swim and read.
I am a senior undergraduate student majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. My broad interests include neurobiology, cellular biology and genomics. After I graduate, I hope to continue doing research by going to graduate school to study neurobiology. Current work in the lab is on the genetic analysis and characterization of the chromosome 22q11.2 deletion in affected children. Outside of the lab, I enjoy dancing, yoga and learning aerial silks.
I am a junior at the University of New Orleans majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. I enjoy dabbling in different fields of Science. My main focus is on environmental and marine life. I took up the lab project to broaden my experience, learn more about molecular and cell biology along with genomics. I am also beginning to take an interest in the expanding field of Biotechnology. Aside from school, I love to read, paint and draw, spend time with my fish and rats and learn about people's lives.
I am a senior majoring in biology with a minor in studio art. I hope to continue my education with a graduate degree. Biological science is a vast field, and I am still discovering the possibilities of a future career. I love video games, singing and baking.
I am currently a junior majoring in Biology and my focus is in molecular biology and biotechnology. The unknown answers and data that lie within DNA are what drive and inspire me. I am currently working with Dr. Atallah on the Nanopore project with S. anomala de novo assembly and I hope to continue future endeavors as a graduate in the lab. My ultimate goal is to teach science at a university level, as I believe the protocols of critically thinking and hypothesis testing is a crucial skill needed in all students – not just future scientists. When I have free time, I love paint-by-number kits, knitting or crocheting, and playing with my adorable white bunny, Garnet.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology & Chemistry fueled by the aspiration of becoming an M.D. My work in research involves investigation into the 22q11.2 deletion syndrome by exploring the genetic analysis and characterization implemented from the disorder. Outside of the lab I like to remain active spending most of my time in nature and exploring new places.
I am a senior biology major at the University of New Orleans and kinesiology graduate of Louisiana State University- Baton Rouge. I am a native of New Orleans and proud dual citizen of Belize. I have started working in Dr. Atallah’s lab in Spring 2020 and am enjoying learning and assisting with his genomic research. In my spare time I’m often creating new recipes in the kitchen, direct-care volunteering with hospice patients, working out at my local YMCA, reading, traveling or playing and watching sports, my favorites are soccer and baseball.
