We know your students have a lot to say about the outcome of the 2016 election. In the face of massive national division and ongoing tensions about the direction of our republic, young people need space to process their emotions, make connections and heal.

With this goal in mind, we’re launching a new campaign: #StudentsSpeak. The idea is simple: Ask your students, “What advice would you give to the new president?”

Here’s how to get involved:

1. Distribute 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of paper to your students.
2. Ask them to draw or write a response to the question, “What advice would you give to the new president?”
3. Take photos of students’ responses (not their faces!) and send them to studentsspeak@tolerance.org with the subject line #StudentsSpeak.
4. Share students’ responses with your friends (and ours!) by posting to Facebookand Twitter using #StudentsSpeak.

Note: Remember to remove any identifying characteristics from the artwork, such as school or student names or neighborhood landmarks.
