Brand Bengaluru Initiatives PROJECTS

1. They are non-statutory.  They do not follow due proces, which is 

   • Presence in the Development Plan , and the Transport plan which is part of the Development plan, which should be formed by the planning authority, ie., the Metropolitan Planning Committee, under the Nagarpalika Act.

   • Additionally, do not have Environment Impact Assessment, Social Impact Assessment or Public Consultaiton.

2. The casualty is Planning and Governance.  These politcians are behaving extremely irresponsible to violate statute.  We should nip this in the bud, so that politicians do not indulge in such lawlessness. 

3. If the Govt wishes good for the city, they need to activate the Planning authority, (Metropolitan Planning Cmte), capacitate the authority with maybe 200-500 urban and transport planners, build a MASTERPLAN bottom up, with consultations at area planning committee level, ward planning committee level, and then integrate them all at the city level.   

4. Only projects that are part of this MASTERPLAN may be taken up for development. 

WE SHOULD MAKE THIS DEMAND IN ONE VOICE!  WE SHOULD SETTLE FOR NOTHING LESS!  Enough is enough!
