Our History

Our Sisterhood

Alpha Sigma Tau was founded November 4, 1899, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Since 1899, Alpha Sigma Tau has been providing women with the network, skills, and empowerment they need to excel in life. 

Our Local Chapter

The Phi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau was founded at Southeastern Louisiana University in February 17, 1940. We were the first sorority on the campus.

Our Alumnae Chapter

The alumnae of Phi Chapter formed the alumnae chapter to support Phi chapter and give the area alumnae a chance to support each other and our sisterhood. We continue to live the values and ideals of Alpha Sigma Tau in our daily lives. We are anchored for life.
