The organisers also understand that the COVID pandemic and geopolitical situation in Europe are evolving very rapidly. Birmingham has many miles of canals (said to be more than Venice), and there are several canal-side pubs and cafes around the Gas Street Basin area. Birmingham is famous for the balti, a curry cooked and served in the same balti dish. Birmingham is also the setting for the hit TV series Peaky Blinders!
The Midlands is a green and pleasant land ripe with incredible hiking opportunities, many being very accessible from Birmingham. So stay with us for an extra day to explore one of the Midlands sites of outstanding beauty!
On Saturday 25th of June, we plan for a full day out including a picnic lunch and a pit stop at a pub before heading back to Birmingham. Depending on the weather and participants, we will decide on the site and the lengths of the hiking route. If the weather is bad, we will do something fun in Birmingham instead.
