Procedure & Rules 

• When the clock strikes 8:30 PM IST, a web page link will be shared with you all. All the questions, star chart and google form can be accessed from there. So sit with your device open and minds free.

• There will be 5 riddles each in Folk tales & Techie Hunt sections &  in the " And by the heavens did I hunt".. section. Read each riddle carefully and while looking for answers make sure your answer matches each hint provided in the riddle to avoid the ambiguity of multiple answers. 

• The use of the internet is allowed to search for information. 

• If you happen to find an astronomical object/constellation/nebula etc. that fits the hints, in the respective riddle sufficiently go search for the object on the Star Chart pdf sent. (only for Folk tales & Techie Hunt sections)

• Once found, the object is to be screenshotted after zooming in to the pdf, and then using image editing in your devices you have to circle the concerned object with some coloured pen. This highlighting the object is a necessary step, no marks will be given if the object is not highlighted in your pdfs.

• If your answer is a Nebula, Galaxy,  star or galaxy cluster or Deep Sky Object then you are supposed to outline the constellation in which the object is present (only for Folk tales & Techie Hunt sections).

• Save the edited screenshot with the filename of the format  "[Question No.]_[Team Name]".

• Start giving your answers to the respective questions and uploading the screenshots. The screenshot image file must not be more than 10MB in size.

• In the section "And by the heavens did I hunt", we will be providing you with the google drive link of the PDF files on the WhatsApp group. 

• Note that these files will be password protected and the instructions for the password for the next problem will be given in the PDF file itself.  You don't have to upload the screenshot of outlined star chart for this section.

• You have to write the answers to these riddles in the google forms as well. The password is only required to open the question files. 

• Marking scheme for  for Folk tales & Techie Hunt sections is 20 marks that is 4 marks per question , 2 marks for uploading correctly outlined screenshot and 2 marks for answering the object correctly.

• "And by the heavens did I hunt" section will have 60 marks , that is 10 marks per question.

• In the response, Google Form, write the email address of your team Captain, and your team name. 

• Manage your time carefully, and try to divide work amongst your team members. 

• The deadline for submission is 11:30 PM IST. After that, the forms submitted will not be graded ( we are strict about this).

• If you face any problem, inform us through the WhatsApp group & try to clarify your doubts on the WhatsApp group itself. There will be volunteers that will help you out.

• The winners will be decided in a hierarchical manner, based on the number of points a team earns and ties will be sorted out on the basis of the time of submission. The faster submission of answers will be given a higher value
