The Eta Aquarids is an above normal storm, capable at its highest of producing up to 60 meteors an hour. In the Southern Hemisphere the majority of the event is observed. The rate can reach 30 meteors per hour in the Northern Hemisphere. It is produced by particles of dust left behind by comet Halley. This year the practically full moon might be an issue covering everything except the brightest meteors. But if you're vigilant, then you will always be able to grab any good ones. After midnight the best visibility is from a dark spot. Meteors may emanate from the Aquarius constellation, which can occur anywhere in the sky.
