AstroID respects your privacy. This policy explains how your data is handled when you use our app.
1. Permissions Used
The app requests the following permissions:
· Camera Access: To allow users to take photos for classification.
· Media Access: To enable image selection from the device gallery.
· Internet Access: Required for retrieving daily space content and translations via third-party APIs.
2. Data Handling and Storage
· All images captured or selected are processed locally on the user’s device. No image or related content is uploaded to external servers or shared with developers.
· The app does not collect, process, or store any personal information (e.g., name, email, location, device ID).
· As developers, we do not have access to any user data, including technical data like IP addresses.
3. Third-Party Services
AstroID uses the following third-party APIs:
· NASA APOD API: To retrieve astronomy-related content such as the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
· DeepL API: To provide translation of the APOD content into other languages.
These services may temporarily process certain technical data (such as IP addresses) as part of standard API operations. However, this data is not accessed, logged, or stored by AstroID in any way.
4. Data Security
AstroID does not use or maintain any backend servers. All user interactions and data processing occur either directly on the device or through secure third-party APIs under their own privacy policies.
5. Policy Updates
This privacy policy may be updated periodically. In case of significant changes, users will be notified directly within the app interface.
