Astitva We operates the Astitva mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App. It is designed to meet transparency requirements under Google Play Store policies and to help you understand your rights.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Astitva is a Vedic (Jyotish) astrology application that provides personalized birth chart (Kundli) generation, daily predictions, AI-powered astrology chat, compatibility (match) insights, and life notes. To deliver these features, we need to collect and process certain information that you provide when you create an account, complete your birth profile, use the chat, or save notes.

We do not sell your personal information. We use your data only to provide, improve, and secure the App.
We collect information that you give us directly and information that is generated when you use the App.
Account information
Email address – When you sign up with email and password, we use your email to create and manage your account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email (and optionally your name and profile photo) from Google to identify your account.
Name – You provide your name during sign-up or onboarding. We use it to personalize the App (for example, greetings) and to store with your birth profile.
Password – Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication. We do not store your password in plain text; authentication is managed by Google’s secure systems.
Phone number (optional) – If you use phone number sign-in, we collect your phone number for verification and account creation. This feature may not be available in all regions.
Birth and profile information (for astrology features)
Date of birth – Required to generate your Vedic chart and predictions.
Time of birth – Used for accurate chart calculation (Lagna, Nakshatra, planetary positions).
Place of birth – City or place name (you type this in; we do not use your device’s GPS or location services). Used for chart calculation and time zone.
Gender, state, country – Optional fields you may provide; we use them to improve personalization and store them with your profile.
User-generated content
Chat messages – Text you send in the general astrology chat and in match-specific chats. We store these so you can see your conversation history and so we can provide context to the AI.
Life notes – Text you add in the “Life notes” / “Things I want to do” feature. We store these so you can view, edit, and search them in the App.
Device and app usage
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the App. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising or cross-app tracking.
To provide the App, we use Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions). Firebase may collect or process technical data (such as IP address, device type, and app version) as described in Google’s privacy documentation. This is used for authentication, database operations, and server-side logic (e.g. AI and compatibility). We do not use Firebase for behavioral advertising.
Local storage
We use SharedPreferences and flutter_secure_storage on your device to store preferences (e.g. language, theme) and, where applicable, secure tokens. This data stays on your device unless it is synced to our backend (e.g. when you sign in and we save your profile to Firestore).
We do not collect your precise or approximate location (GPS or network-based). The only “place” we use is the birth place you type in for astrology.
We do not access your camera or microphone in the current version of the App. (If we add voice input in the future, we will update this policy and request the relevant permissions.)
We do not collect sensitive categories (such as health, race, religion) except where you optionally provide information (e.g. gender) as part of your profile.
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your account – So you can sign in securely and access your data across sessions.
Generate your Vedic chart and predictions – Using your birth date, time, and place to compute and display your Kundli, daily insights, and structured predictions (career, love, health, finance, spiritual, lucky elements).
Provide AI astrology chat – To answer your questions, we send relevant context (e.g. your chart summary, chat history) to our backend and to Google’s Gemini API. Your messages are stored so you can see history and we can maintain conversation context.
Provide compatibility (match) features – When you enter a partner’s birth details, we use that data (and optionally your own) to compute compatibility and to support match-specific chat. Match chats are stored separately from your main chat.
Store and display your life notes – So you can add, edit, search, and delete your “things I want to do” list.
Improve and secure the App – For example, to fix errors, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
We do not use your data for advertising or to build profiles for third-party marketing. We do not sell your personal information.
The App does not collect, use, or store your device’s location (GPS or network-based). The only place-related information we use is the birth place (city or place name) that you type in for Vedic chart calculation. That is not location tracking and cannot be used to identify your current whereabouts.
If we ever add location-based features, we will update this policy, request the appropriate permissions, and explain how you can disable or limit location use.
We use the following third-party services to run the App. Each has its own privacy practices; we encourage you to read their policies.
Google Firebase
Firebase Authentication – Handles sign-in (email/password, Google Sign-In, and optionally phone). Google processes your account credentials and identifiers in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
Cloud Firestore – Our database. Your profile, birth details, chat messages, life notes, and compatibility-related data are stored in Firestore. Data is stored in regions chosen by Firebase and is subject to Google Cloud Privacy.
Firebase Cloud Functions – Server-side code that powers features such as AI chat, compatibility, and (where used) horoscope or predictions. These functions receive only the data necessary to perform the requested feature (e.g. your message and chart context).
Google Sign-In
If you choose “Sign in with Google,” Google shares with us the information you allow (typically email and name, and optionally profile photo). Use of Google Sign-In is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and their terms.
Google Gemini (AI)
We use Google’s Gemini API (via our backend or Cloud Functions) to generate astrology-related chat responses and, where applicable, compatibility or prediction text. We send only the data needed for the feature (e.g. prompt, chat history, birth context). Processing is done under our instructions. Google’s use of data is described in Google AI / Gemini privacy documentation.
Other
Connectivity – We use the connectivity_plus library to check network status (e.g. to show you when you are offline). We do not use it to track location or behavior.
HTTP – We use standard HTTP (over HTTPS) to communicate with our backend and APIs. All such traffic is encrypted in transit.
We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs in the current version of the App. If we add them later, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent.
We take the security of your data seriously.
In transit – All data sent between the App and our servers (or Google’s services) is sent over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
At rest – Your data stored in Firebase/Firestore is protected by Google’s security and encryption practices. Access is restricted to what is needed to operate the App.
On device – Sensitive values (e.g. tokens) may be stored using flutter_secure_storage where supported by the platform. Other preferences are stored in standard local storage (e.g. SharedPreferences).
Access control – We design our backend and database rules so that each user can access only their own data (tied to their user ID). We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing or advertising.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we apply industry-standard measures to protect your information.
You have the following rights and choices:
Access and update
You can view and update your profile and birth details in the App (e.g. via onboarding or profile settings).
You can view and edit your life notes and chat history within the App.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data. To do so, please contact us at the email address below. We will process your request within a reasonable period (e.g. 30 days) and will delete or anonymize your personal data from our systems, except where we must retain it for legal or legitimate operational reasons (e.g. resolving disputes or enforcing terms).
You can also delete individual content (e.g. life notes) yourself from within the App.
Permissions
The App currently requests only Internet access (required for sign-in, syncing data, and AI features). You can revoke network access via your device settings, but the App will not function without it.
We do not collect location, camera, or microphone data in the current version. If we add such features, we will request the relevant permissions and allow you to deny or revoke them where the platform allows.
Guest / anonymous use
You may be able to use the App in a limited way as a “guest” (anonymous account). In that case we collect minimal data (e.g. an anonymous user ID). If you later create a full account or link your guest account, the data may be merged in accordance with the App’s design.
Uninstall
Uninstalling the App will remove data stored only on your device (e.g. preferences). To delete data stored on our servers (e.g. profile, chat, notes), you must request account/data deletion as described above.
If you are in a region that provides additional rights (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, or India under applicable law), you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, or data portability. Contact us using the details below to exercise those rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, when we add features or to reflect legal or regulatory changes). We will post the updated policy in the App and/or on our website and will change the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes, we may notify you in the App or by email where we have your contact details.
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App and contact us to request deletion of your data.
