In an effort to help you celebrate Holy Week at home with your family in a meaningful way, the Sunday school team has assembled a number of resources below to help. While it will not be the same as being together in person, our collective worship throughout this important week will hopefully connect us in ways we never imagined possible. You are in our prayers and we look forward to hearing the stories of how Christ touched your lives through this unique Lenten Journey and Holy Week. If you have any questions, please email us at sundayschool@assumptionaz.org. Kali Anastasi!
Services will be live streamed online via the Assumption Facebook page. Feel free to print out the PDF below for a reminder of the schedule.
After celebrating the morning Liturgy with us online, enjoy a simple pancake breakfast with your family and make some palm crosses. If you do not have pre-made pancake mix at home, try the easy recipe linked below.
Gratefully, palm fronds are in close proximity to many of our homes. You will only need a few fronds to create a number of palm crosses to decorate your home with on Palm Sunday (see the link below for instructions).
If you do not have any packaged red egg dye at home, check with the Assumption Bookstore (email: bookstore@assumptionaz.org) or try the traditional technique of using onion skins to dye them using the recipe linked below.
In order to capture reflections of how your family made this year's Holy Week and Pascha celebrations special, use the template linked below to create a memory book (you can complete the project as a family or have each person make their own).
For more detailed infomation about activities to walk you through ALL of Holy Week at Home, use this Resource Guide shared by the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Pensacola, FL.
We're stuck at home. We haven't been to Church services in weeks. What does it all mean? Steve shares a prayer and a parable that can help us see this with the eyes of a bee.
