Welcome! I’m Dr. Bomikazi Zeka, and my goal is simple: to break down barriers to financial education. Whether through teaching, research, public speaking, or community engagement, I'm dedicated to building a more resilient and financially educated society.
As an Associate Professor in Finance and Financial Planning at the University of Canberra, my mission is to make finance more accessible and equitable for historically marginalized groups—especially women, people of colour, and older adults.
My work is focused on understanding the economic challenges faced by these communities and exploring the strategies they use to overcome them. I believe in the power of financial education to create lasting change, and I dedicate my research to uncovering the factors that contribute to financial inequality, as well as the ways we can address them.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching at institutions like Nelson Mandela University and Hong Kong Baptist University, which has shaped my global perspective on finance and social justice. I use this knowledge to create solutions that help individuals navigate economic challenges and build financial resilience, whether through teaching, research, or community engagement.
At the core of my work is the belief that financial literacy is a powerful tool for overcoming socio-economic barriers. I am committed to helping individuals and communities break down these barriers and create opportunities for a brighter financial future.
If you are interested in being part of this journey with me, let's get in touch. Together, we can build a more inclusive and financially empowered society.
