Sachit Rao is currently an Associate Professor at the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore. He earned his PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University in 2006 and 2002, respectively; his B.E. degree is also in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mysore. He worked as a Post-Doc with Prof Debasish Ghose, in Aerospace Engg, in the first decade of this century. In this work, he developed Sliding Mode Control-based Guidance Laws; he continues to work with Prof  DG in other roles

His research interests are in Control Systems and Robotics; he also applies the diverse mathematical tools available in Control Systems in domains such as Urban Transport and AI/ML. He works with the industry in developing Autonomous Mobile Robots
