SMART Parents Make Better Choices in LIFE
Our philosophy is that SMART Parents Make Better Choices for Future Leaders!
The goal for this workshop is to motivate and train parents to make better choices for their future and for their children’s future. Parents will learn to be Leaders in Life.
ASSET Builder, Inc. a 501(c) (3) non-profit agency in partnership with the Learning Institute for Excellence L.I.F.E. will provide a LIFE Skills Program prepared for Parents as Learners and Leaders in Life. The Learning to be Leaders Team will consist of top-flight professional career motivators, average community members and will target meeting basic needs as a foundation for motivation that will last through life’s crises. This community program is designed to target Parents by training mentoring and supporting them as Leaders in LIFE. SMART Parents are the role models for their children, the Future Leaders of Philadelphia.
Everyone wants to belong. Belonging is one of the essential needs that lead to building high self esteem and brings with it a feeling of self worth. People with a sense of their own worth become the Leaders in Life.
ASSET Builders plans to assist Parents in being all that they can be and modeling their leadership for youth. Through this training and support they will learn new life skills and work skills. Parents can then make the best life choices and model the behaviors which will build better work skills and better life skills for their future.
Parents will learn to use the SMART way to make important decisions in life. They will learn to be more specific, have measurable goals that are attainable and realistic. They will learn how to set up timelines to accomplish their goals. All parents will be trained and supported to learn the basic skills to improve parenting through use of a self training tool and to identify parenting style. They will receive instruction in new methods of discipline based on the developmental age of their child. They will learn life skills such as more effective communication, how to deal with anger and conflict resolution- all skills which serve as the foundation for relationships at home or work.
The LIFE Program will provide classes to choose from in basic math, finance and budgeting for those who wish to target those skills as a basis for improving their work life. Parents will also be offered support classes for weight loss and personal change if they choose to attend them. This training program is theirs to participate in and the choices will be designed with their recommendations for the optional skills courses as the mainstay of the program.
