das deutsche Alphabet

The German alphabet consists of 26 (as in English) and 4 additional letters from the German language for a total of 30 letters. These are: ä, ö, ü and ß. Considering that German seems pretty similar to English (as they belong to the same linguistic family), grammar and pronunciation may differ greatly.

Unlike English, it follows consistent phonetic rules and you can sound out the word according to the alphabet and get the right pronunciation in most situations.
