About Kelvin:
Kelvin's areas of teaching and advisement revolve around curriculum, assessment, reflection and learning. His curriculum goal is to devise optimal ways of intriguing teachers and learners to excel beyond the economic stakes of education. Kelvin’s personal learning goal is to develop a greater ability to empathise with learners’ needs and identity. Read more about his views on learning beyond assessments.
About Hui Yong:
In the many years serving in secondary schools prior to working in teacher education, Hui Yong was variously English and Literature teacher, HOD (EL), Dean (Curriculum) and Vice Principal. Her research interests grew out of her line of work: her MEd thesis looked into role conflict experienced by HODs; her PhD focused on self-regulated learning and authentic assessment, important areas to her as driver of the Integrated Programme in her school. Above all, she is interested in all things that will enhance student’s learning experience in school. Read more about her views on student assessment.
About Rachel:
Rachel's research interest in teacher learning grew out from her role as a Senior Teacher/EL in a primary school. For her doctoral research on teacher learning through lesson study, she received The Tan Poey Quee Doctor in Education Gold Medal for Best Overall Student and Book Prize Award for Best Dissertation as well as the Dean’s Commendation for Research. She also holds a Master of Education in English Language (EL) from NIE-NTU. Her areas of expertise include lesson study and assessment feedback. Read more about her profile and publications.
About Rongchan:
Rongchan started out as a Chinese Language teacher and Subject Head/Project Management (Internal) at Nan Hua High School. She was subsequently seconded to NIE as a Teaching Fellow. After her secondment, she worked at the Ministry of Education Headquarters, Singapore, as a Curriculum Planning Officer. Rongchan received her B.A. from Peking University, her PGDE and M.A. from Nanyang Technological University, and her Ed.M. from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests include assessment policies, rubric design, scenario-based assessment and second language assessment.
