The war on drugs has always been a crooked, racist, deadly, and ineffective campaign, and needs to come to an end. It's only served to ruin lives, further drug cartels, and put tyranny into the world of medicine. Between mass incarceration, defending cartels from competition, and no serious declines in drug use and overdose, one simply can't justify preserving it. One only needs to look to Portugal to see that the only way to fight drug abuse is liberty. Further, the premise that the government needs to tell you what to do with your body and to be healthy is bankrupt in and of itself. It's a travesty taxpayer dollars have gone to enforcing it for so long. As an assemblyman, I will fight for:
