WELCA
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, We commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday school starts at 9:00 a.m. for children and adults.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
During the first part of June, Assaria Lutheran Church offers a week long Bible school from 8:30-11:30. It is open to all children ages 3-12 in the community. Join us for a Bible lesson, crafts, fun, and snacks.
LITTLE TOT CHRISTIAN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
The Assaria Lutheran Church hosts preschool for children ages 3-5 with two different sessions during the week as follows: Preschool (ages 3-4) Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-11:30; Pre-K (ages 4-5) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30-11:30. For more information contact Trudy Lund at 785-667-4165 or visit our website.
The symbol - the cross, water and a water lily-identifies Women of the ELCA as baptized, forgiven, children of God, full of grace and hope of eternal life.
It is a reminder of the growth, beauty, and vitality that rises out of that life-giving baptismal water and the mission of the church to make disciples of all nations and baptize the in the name of the Triune God.
Small fellowship groups (Deborah, Martha, Mary, Miriam) help serve the midweek Lenten suppers, provide snacks for Vacation Bible School, have a Memorial Day service, and support other local ministries such as Bethany Home, Salina Food Bank and Lutheran World Relief.
CHURCHMEN
The churchmen of Assaria Lutheran Church also have been active in the life of the congregation. They too provide a meal for the midweek Lenten services. Every July or August since 1965 an ice cream social has been used to provide scholarships for students from the Assaria congregation who attend Bethany College and to provide the devotional booklet, "Portals in Prayer."
YOUNG ADULTS
The young adults at Assaria Lutheran Church raise money to support their efforts with a concession stand during Hyllningsfest in Lindsborg.
