ASOSAUK (Association of Self-financed Outstanding Scholarship Awardees UK) is the first charity organisation founded by awardees of a research scholarship funded by the Chinese Scholarship Council. The association was established in 2017, under the support of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in London. The charitable purpose is to promote the translation of innovation to entrepreneurship, for British and Chinese researchers. We provide services in both project management and human resources to bridge scientific talents and business opportunities in the two countries. We focus on the hard & core technology, which encompasses artificial intelligence, aeronautics & astronautics, biotech, optoelectronics, informatics, new materials, new energy, artificial manufacturing, etc. These original scientific innovations require long-term investment and accumulation, so they are different from business model innovations. They are the fundamental drive for economic growth and human development. There are three types of services provided by the association:
We organise annual startup competitions to connect our resources in industries, financial capital, and governments to the innovators in both UK and China.
We facilitate international mobility of talents in the two countries by high-level human resources services.
We promote cultural and technological exchange between the two countries by organising regular forums. Past activities can be found in the showcase webpage.
