2025 ASME Mary Baker Industry Achievement Award

The Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound (TCVS) of the ASME Design Engineering Division solicits nominations for the 2025 Mary Baker Industry Achievement Award. This award will be presented at the 2025 ASME Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB), a part of the ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC). The Mary Baker Industry Achievement Award, established in 2024, is presented to an industry or government practitioner or researcher who accomplishes at least one of the following in the areas of vibration, sound/acoustics, shock, or dynamics:
1. A singular industry innovation
2. A lifetime of industry-relevant achievements
3. Impactful engagement and improvement across industry, government, and academic domains
The recipient will receive a plaque, honorarium ($1000), conference travel stipend ($1500), waiver of IDETC registration fees, and an invitation to deliver the prestigious Mary Baker Keynote Lecture at the VIB Conference.
Candidates must:
• At the time of awarding, have 10 or more years of experience in industry and/or government as a
practitioner and/or researcher
• Generate a publicly releasable keynote lecture and travel to the VIB Conference for a presentation
• Cover travel expenses beyond the stipend allotment
Nomination packages should include a letter of nomination, strictly three letters of support, and the nominee’s curriculum vitae. At least two letters of support must be from industry or government organizations. The nomination letter should include a clear articulation of the nominee’s industry achievement in a single sentence. All nomination packages must be submitted electronically in a single PDF file. The deadline for the receipt of nomination packages is February 1st, 2025.
