Reflection Highlights

I like that the class is taught by signing instead of speaking so we are really immersed in the language.

I have really started to understand Sign Language more than I ever though I could. And I still have the whole year and years to come to learn even more.

I really enjoy having conversations with my peers and doing more face to face stuff. The culture and the language are so beautiful and interesting. I really enjoy learning and experiencing it.

I'm learning way more than I did in the other language class.

We learned that there was more than one version of a certain sign.

I've learned the most I've ever learned in a language. ASL is the first language I've ever understood. Yay.

I am glad that I am starting to understand the language and how the signs work.

Today I had fun working with my group on our poster/song for Deaf awareness week. I enjoyed learning the colors and drawing a cat.

Today we started on our projects. I'm excited to present our song on Monday.

I really enjoy coming to class and teaching somethings that I learned to my family.

Today I learned more words that are gonna take a second to pick up but will be fun to play with when I'm conversing with friends. Also the project is gonna be fun.

I got faster at signing.

I feel good about what I've learned in class. I've never learned so much in one unit or month about a language before.

I feel I know all the signs by heart and I feel I can sign them from memory.

American Sign Language is more than just making signals to others but it is a way of communication.

I have learned that American Sign Language is more than just making signals to others but it is a way of communicating.

It was fun having conversations in ASL with peers.

I liked practicing ASL vocabulary with different peers and making sense of what they are signing (saying).

I will practice at home.

I have gotten better at the vocabulary words.

I can comprehend what other are signing a lot easier.

It was fun putting the pieces together and chatting with my classmates.

In American Sign Language (ASL) in order to understand what one is saying, you must be very vigilant to not just the presenters actions but their facial and body language.

I definitely know a lot more than I did before starting ASL.

I'm good at finger spelling but reading others finger spelling is hard.

I feel like I need more practice reading other people's finger spelling.

I have learned most of the alphabet and quite a few of useful words. I am optimistic about ASL.

I feel satisfied with what I have learned so far and am excited to learn more.
