Club President Election: 

I would like to welcome our new president for the 2024-2025 term Merrissa Brambila, along with our new general officer, Clarissa Chambers! We are so excited to have you as offices and cannot wait to see all that you do for the club in the next year.

Elections: 

The election itself will be during our April General Meeting (04/04/2024 5-6pm in Sequoia Hall rm 142). Any registered member who attends the meeting in person is permitted to vote and the winners will be announced by the end of the meeting. While all positions are up for reflection,  we especially need a president and a general officer as these two positions will be vacant next year. Nominations for officers are due the 25th and they can be submitted via this google form. If you have questions please let us know.

The first 20 or so minutes of every Officer Meeting are reserved for members to bring any concerns, questions or suggestions to the officers. The next meeting will be before the social on 03/28 from 5-5:20 in Lib rm 0135.

Special Request: 

The coordinator for the AICP showcase is looking for an ASL performer to perform a poem or spoken word piece,  alongside an interpreter during the event on March 25th. If you are interested or know someone who is interested please contact Alexandra C. Owens by email at acowens@csus.edu as soon as possible. 

Valentines Day: 

We are asking our members to send in a short video where they sign one thing that they love for this valentines day. The last day to submit a video is Monday February 12th. Please send any submission to us by email (aslclubatsacstate@gmail.com). The submissions will be compiled into a video and posted on our Instagram (sending in a video is confirmation that we can post it on our social media).

 As the semester comes to an end I have a few more announcements to make. First I would like to give a big shout-out to all of the graduating seniors! Congratulations on all your hard work and great success! On to the content of the meeting; during the meeting, we announced the club officers for the next year, so a round of applause to Jenni Hernadez and Christina Racine our two new officers, and the returning officers Ben LaVigne as Social Coordinator, Cassie Vaughn as Treasurer, and Melissa Schmidt as President. The last two events we have this semester are our last ASL social this Thursday (05/04/23) in the Union Starbucks from 6-8, and the Social at ARC 05/09/23 from 3-5 pm. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

        2023 Officer Elections: 

- Elections for next year (Fall 2023- Spring 2024) will be held during the April General Meeting- 4/27

- Positions Up For Election:

             - Up to 3 other total officers

- Candidates MUST contact current officers before 4/21 to be included in the vote

- Candidates may include materials in official club emails and social media post by submitting a request through email

Our first ASL social will be held next Thursday, 3/2/23, from 6-8 in the Starbuck in the Union. Additionally, our next meeting will be Thursday March 30th from 4-6pm in Sequoia Hall rm 450 (the same room as the first meeting). We are also excited to announce that we are planning to sell ASL Club T-shirts towards the end of this semester, if you are interested, please complete the T-shirt Interest form. This Friday is the final day to fill out the Stole Interest form for student Graduating this semester, please make sure to fill it out so that we can ensure that everyone interested is able to receive a stole for graduation. Finally, if you have not done so already, please make sure that you have gone to our website and clicked join, so that you will be placed on our official roster, as you must be registered there to be considered an official member.
