We are looking for motivated students to join our project on “Optical Detection and Tracking of Aerial Objects”.

In this project, we are developing an AI-enhanced optical system to detect, identify, and track aerial vehicles like drones. The system uses high-resolution cameras and embedded computing platforms to capture real-time video data. We apply computer vision and deep learning techniques to distinguish objects of interest from environmental noise and track their movements in 3D space.

Requirements

• To be an undergrad in their at least 5th semester in their department.

• Taking Phys 492 as part of this research, or to have a low course load to spare time for this research.

• Familiarity with Python programming

• Interest in Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Deep Learning
