Biography:
Aslam is a native of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Since March 2023, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. He obtained his PhD from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research's National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) in Pune in 2018, under the mentorship of Dr. Nitin Patil. During his doctoral studies, he was honored to receive the prestigious Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowship. He held postdoctoral research associate positions in August 2018 at the University of California, Los Angeles, working with Professor Ohyun Kwon, and at the University of Arizona, Tucson, under the guidance of Professor Thomas Gianetti. Prior to his current role at IIT Ropar, he served as a synthetic organic chemist at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, where he collaborated with Professor Mohamed Eddaoudi. His current research centers on the development of sustainable chemical synthesis methodologies, utilizing transition metal catalysis, photoredox processes, and electro-photo redox catalysis.
