Program Calendar
Mentoring
Each early career principal will be matched with a seasoned principal mentor for the school year (Sept-May). Mentoring should take place at least 1 hour per month via phone or video chat, and is scheduled by each mentoring pair at a mutually agreeable time. Mentoring works best with:
A willingness to participate
An openness to reflection
Flexibility with scheduling mentoring times
Book Study
This year the ASLA book study will be of 'Culturize' by Jimmy Casas. A copy of the book will be sent to each ASLA participant. Jimmy Casas will support the book study with at least two live sessions to discuss key concepts in his book. We will use the time to deepen our understanding of leadership concepts.
*Participation in the book study is required for the 1 UAA credit for ASLA.
We will be using the app Voxer for our book study. You can create your account and download the app here https://www.voxer.com
Questions for the book study will be drawn from the free Culturize Study Guide
