Kerala Science Congress 2023

Many researches from Audio Speech and Language Lab presented their works at the prestigious Kerala Science Congress 2023 organized by the Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment at MBC College of Engineering and Technology, Peerumedu during 10-14 February 2023.

Noumida A. Presented her poster on Multi Label Bird Species Classification using Sequential Aggregation Method. Kavya Manohar presented her work on building an Open Framework for the Development of Automatic Speech recognition system for Malayalam, which bagged the best oral presentation award under the category of scientific social responsibility.

Noumida and Godwin presented their works at INDICON 2022

Noumida A. presented her work on 'Multilabel Bird Species Classification Using Hierarchical Attention' at INDICON 2022.

Godwin presented his work on a' FAISS Based search for Story generation' at  INDICON 2022.



SEPTEMBER 2022

Ananya Ayasi attends Interspeech 2022 with ISCA Travel Grant


Ananya Ayasi presented her joint paper with Dr. Rajeev Rajan in ISCA Interspeech 2022. She received travel grant from International Speech Communication Association for attending Interspeech during September 18-22, Incheon Korea.

CET and Catholicate College team up for research

Surveillance Robot funded by KSCSTE

Surveillance Robot project funded by Kerala state council for science, technology and environment was successfully completed by a team of undergraduate students from CET. The team of 4 members, Shaun K Thomas,  Allan S Geoffry, Jyothi Thinkal and  Nikhil S Viswam was guided by Dr. Rajeev Rajan of ASL Lab.

The robot can be used to safely determine the environment which are normally inaccessible to humans and ameliorate any crisis occurring within the circumscribed area and can be used to analyze the environment through various parameters that are not possible otherwise. 

The important components that are used in the robot are H-Bridge Motor Drive, Camera Module, Arduino Mega and ISD Sound Recorder. Triggered by any type of movement within the range of the infrared sensor, activates the Sound recorder. The duration of the recording and playback, including delay, can be controlled using Arduino.
