Logistical Note
The Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Program (ASL) is the GEF-funded regional initiative that seeks to improve integrated landscape management and ecosystem conservation in priority areas of the Amazon in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname. The central environmental agencies of each country lead the implementation of the respective projects, and multiple public and private institutions co-execute the projects, along with civil society and community organizations. The World Bank is the coordinating agency for the Program and, together with WWF, CAF, FAO and UNDP, supports countries in the preparation and monitoring of national projects. ASL also includes a regional project that promotes coordination and exchange of experiences.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
Share progress, exchange knowledge and promote capacity building between ASL national project teams.
Share lessons learned from ASL1 projects.
Identify priorities that will guide the ASL regional project for the following year.
Beyond the ASL: exploring opportunities of collaboration with other partners.
