"Miss Cherie," Cherie Mondrella, is a seasoned Parent Coach, a nationally-recognized Workshop Presenter, an Early Childhood Educator, a private Tutor, and aCalifornia Court-Approved Professional Supervised Visitation Monitor. With over 30 Years Of Professional Experience serving children and families, it is her ongoing goal to support and educate both children and parents for the best possible family outcomes.
Miss Cherie's extensive background serving children and families spans the fields of Child Development, Social Services, Intervention Services, & Early Childhood Education. Throughout her career, Miss Cherie has supported and trained countless parents and educators, first beginning her journey as a Mother To Three Sonsand as a Foster Parent To SevenElementary-Aged Boys.
Throughout her earlier career, Miss Cherie taught thousands of preschool children as a Credentialed Early Childhood Educator. In 2002, Miss Cherie wrote a play-based curriculum which she personally taught through her own company, Fun-Etics, Inc., operating throughout the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Still operating today, Fun-Etics, Inc. has proudly enhanced the development and improved the social and emotional competencies of over 50,000 children since 2002.
In addition to teaching in the classroom, Miss Cherie has enjoyed tutoring preschool and school-aged children in literacy with her proprietary hands-on, play-based, and developmentally appropriate curriculum. Her multi-sensory and multi-disciplinary teaching methods are research-based and proven to help children to learn more quickly and retain information for longer than with traditional methods. Most recently, Miss Cherie has been studying to become certified to help school-aged children overcome their reading challenges relating to Dyslexia so they can succeed in school and regain their confidence.
Miss Cherie has had a lifelong passion for sharing her knowledge and experience with parents and other educators. As a Nationally-Recognized Conference Presenter for the National Association For The Education Of Young Children (NAEYC), Miss Cherie has coached thousands of parents, teachers and caregivers throughout her career. Today, Miss Cherie shares her knowledge and expertise through parent workshops and private in-home (or neutral site) consultations designed specifically to enhance children's development, improve their learning, and strengthen parent-child bonds.
Miss Cherie also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences. She developed and implemented successful behavior intervention programs for at-risk foster children, children with special needs, and for children with significant behavioral challenges. Miss Cherie Specializes In Handling Some Of The Most Challenging Children's Behaviors through the use of positive guidance and redirection techniques. Through her social work experiences, Miss Cherie has also had the opportunity to develop her skills in verbal de-escalation strategies (CPI) and behavior modification strategies. But, she most often relies on positive guidance and redirection, as well as taking a whole-family approach to identify and eliminate root causes of the undesired behaviors.
Miss Cherie's overarching goal is to help families restore harmony so children can move beyond behaviors, achieve true contentment, and reach their fullest potential and so parents can truly and fully enjoy the parenting journey.
