Introducing Paleontologist Ben Francischelli!
Ben is a paleontologist and Science Communicator. He focuses on the preparation, identification and conservation of fossil Cenozoic marine tetrapods from Southern Australia. He finds fossils in the field, bring them to the lab, prepare them and collaborate with researchers to understand what they are.
He co-ordinates a number of social media pages related to Vertebrate Palaeontology and gives numerous speeches for outreach related to his work.
In my his for the Port Phillip EcoCentre, he creates and delivers practical and hands-on urban ecology and habitat restoration and education programs to diverse groups (including schools, universities, and workplaces).

DID YOU KNOW?
What's the difference between Paleontology, Anthropology & Archaeology?
Paleontology is the study of plant and animal fossils to understand evolution - how our world and the life on it has changed over time.
It answers questions like: When did dodo birds go extinct? When was the Earth in an Ice Age? How did animals move from sea to land?
Anthropology only studies humans throughout history - particularly at human cultures. It uses biology, physics and sociology, making it an interdisciplinary study.
It answers questions like:
Archaeology, similar to anthropology, tries to understand human culture from material remains called artifacts and architectural remnants. Examples include hieroglyphics, clothes, pottery, bones, and structures like the Roman Colosseum and Machu Picchu.
It answers questions like: What role does faith play in each culture?
