My journey in data science and analytics began with a foundation in engineering and a passion for unraveling complex datasets. I hold a Master’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering from West Virginia University, where I focused on data science and analytics, with an emphasis on applied machine learning and data-driven decision-making. Over the past 4 years, I have honed my expertise in exploratory data analysis, machine learning, and project management, applying these skills in both academic and industry settings.
Currently, I work as a Research Analyst at West Virginia University Medicine, where I manage clinical research projects and analyze electronic health records (EHR) to identify patterns that support evidence-based decision-making. My work involves leveraging tools like Epic, RedCap, Python, and R to ensure data accuracy and deliver actionable insights. Collaborating with physicians, fellows, and multidisciplinary research teams, I support clinical trials, quality improvement projects, and data-driven innovation, fostering a culture of analytical rigor and collaboration.
Previously, as a Graduate Research Assistant at West Virginia University, I contributed to NIH and NSF funded projects using over 20 million electronic health record entries from the N3C platform to study the impact of COVID-19 on mental health and predict emerging psychiatric conditions through machine learning models. These experiences have strengthened my ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, bridging the gap between research and real-world implementation.
Beyond my professional work, I am committed to lifelong learning and the dissemination of knowledge, with research published in journals such as PLOS ONE and Springer (IJAMT). I believe that data has the power to drive innovation, improve systems, and create positive societal impact. My goal is to continue building intelligent, scalable analytics solutions that transform data into actionable strategies across diverse domains.
When I'm not immersed in data projects, you can find me exploring the world of literature or capturing moments through photography.
