Networking: Monthly Chomp and Chats
AEA meets monthly (we call them "Chomp and Chats") to network, celebrate, and simply decompress. It provides a safe space and gives us a way to check in to continue supporting one another. These Chomp and Chats are open to anyone and everyone.
Please come out and invite a friend or five. All are Welcome!

Professional Development: Promoting Leadership Amongst Asian Educators
There are many leadership positions in FCPS (beyond administration), and there are many pathways to those positions. We are proud to host workshops that feature different leaders in FCPS. They want to help others advance in their careers!
Have you considered yourself in a leadership role?
Mentorship: FCPS Affinity Groups
Members can join FCPS Affinity Groups for Asian, Black, Latinx, Arab, Military Affiliate, Neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ Educators. Joining a group is a great way to build friendships, share stories, and connect with FCPS educators with similar identities and backgrounds. Affinity groups are meant to be a safe space where you can learn more about FCPS and thrive among a caring community. Our members can also sign up for a mentor through this program. Sign up for a group here or reach out to Hanna Langstein, our AEA Facilitator: hblangstein@fcps.edu.

Community Engagement:
Asian Leadership Alliance (ALA) Scholarship Foundation for FCPS Asian/Pacific Islander/Desi American Students
In 2023, we awarded our 1st $1,000 scholarship to Marshall HS Senior, Aparna Gana, a 2nd year student at the University of Virginia. Within a year, through community donations alone, we were able to raise enough donations to award 5 scholarship recipients to help further their education and become leaders within our community.
