The 2026 Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge
The 2026 Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge is now open and runs until Friday 5th September.
All Ashwood High School students in Years 7-10 have been registered and are encouraged to participate.
The Challenge is to read 15 books
Year 7-8: Read at least 10 books from the official Challenge Booklist and up to 5 of your own choice.
Year 9-10: Read at least 5 books from the official Challenge Booklist and up to 10 books of your own choice.
House points
Earn 5 house points when you read and record your first Challenge book. (note: novels studied in English don’t count as your first book.)
Complete the Challenge by reading 15 books to earn 30 house points, a certificate of achievement, and receive a school colours nomination.

Getting started
Login to your PRC portal, record your reading, and search the official booklist
Choose the "Edupass login" option.
Username –

as per email and compass
Finding Challenge books in the AHS library
The Ashwood High School Library has hundreds of Challenge books available for loan. To find them, use the library catalogue (Compass username and password).
Search using the following subject search terms:
"PRC 7 - 8"
"PRC 9 - 10"
