About
Hello! This is Ashwani, a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur. I did my bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from IIITDM Jabalpur. I am working at the Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory under the joint guidance of Dr. Gautam Biswas. My research work focuses on direct numerical simulations of free-surface flows involving heat and mass transfer. We use an in-house developed Multi-Phase CFD solver based on efficient interface capturing techniques such as VOF & CLSVOF, to capture the sharp interface between the continuous phase and the dispersed phase. My research problem involves the study of the dynamics of the evaporation of droplets moving in heated ambient and the effect of evaporation on binary collision of drops in different collision regimes.
