Hello! Welcome to my page.
I am Ashutosh Kumar (Ashu), a health economist and health services researcher with 5 years of experience conducting health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and health services research. For my research, I utilize real-world data (RWD) such as electronic health records (EHR) data, commercial claims data from IQVIA, and household survey data. I also have experience conducting field experiments and randomized program evaluations for The World Bank in India.
My current research focuses on estimating incremental hypertension-associated medical expenditures identified from EHR and claims datasets and presenting trends in prescription fills for blood pressure (BP)-lowering and BP-elevating medications among US adults and the pediatric population. I have demonstrated leadership and analytical skills in addressing complex research questions, with expertise in cleaning, merging, and analyzing datasets using rigorous econometrics and statistical methods.
I completed my Ph.D. in Economics and M.S. in Statistics from Washington State University in July 2021. I enjoy using my training in economics and statistics to explore questions related to health outcomes and design insightful statistical models to solve analytical problems.
Here is my current Resume and CV with papers, presentations, awards & honors, and references.
