Session typically begins with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. If you would like to include specific work such as Craniosacral work for 15 minutes on your head, Visceral work with targeted organs, or 20 minutes of Intra Oral, etc., mention it then and I will ensure to incorporate it into the session. I will leave the room while you prep and dress down to your comfort level, lying on the table, underneath the sheets. The session time starts when I come back into the room to work your body. I begin with your feet and systematically work around the body to ease tension and bring on a greater sense of relaxation. Hot towels and stones are generally used in each session but you will always be asked if it is ok to apply first. The 60 or 90 minutes will go by, feel free to chat during the session or ask questions. Upon ending, I will leave the room for you to recalibrate and dress and ask that you open the door when ready.
I have an Advanced Certification in Craniosacral Massage. Sessions typically begin with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. A full Craniosacral Therapy can be done with clothes on. You will be asked to lie on the table. Blankets and pillows are offered for your comfort. The session time will begin when my hands hold your feet. From the feet, some light stretching and movements. Then systematically work over the light touch points of the Craniosacral system, including a sacrum hold, pelvic clock rotation, and some breathwork. Much of this session is done with my hands cradling your head and neck, facial muscles, and use of some dialogue and/or imagery.
Session typically begins with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. Visceral manipulation consists of gentle compression, mobilization, and elongation of soft tissues. A full Visceral session includes dressing down halfway, pants and bottom clothing may stay on, lying on the table with the knees supported and raised. The session time starts when I come back into the room to work your body. Gentle massage of the abdominal region ensues. We will gently work through the organs and the emotions that can be shepherded in each using the body's natural rhythms and movements including some guided breathwork and imagery.
Session typically begins with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. Dress down as much as you feel comfortable; however, note that many of the lymphatic hot points are better manipulated when no clothing or restriction is pressing on them, specifically inside the leg on the hip line and waist. You will experience hand flushing and dry brushing. The lymph system lives in the surface of the body so don't expect heavy, deep strokes, instead, light movements with some percussion. I usually use grapefruit and/or ginger oil to further stimulate the lymph flow. A lung and or diaphragm release may be necessary if having a difficult time breathing or overcoming a cold or chest congestion. Expect a full body flush ending with face and neck work.
Session typically begins with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. Shiatsu is done fully clothed on a mat on the floor. Shiatsu utilizes pushing energy points along the body's meridian lines in a rocking, pressured motion that further stimulates blood and lymphatic flow. Shiatsu helps release blockages of Qi energy within the body and body systems. It can aid in fatigue, digestive issues, acute and chronic pain, joint issues, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. After pushing along the body's meridian lines, there is some light stretching using specific partnered holds. Expect pushing with the thumbs, palms, feet, and knees and the potential utilization of a cloth to aid in stretches.
Session typically begins with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. Spinal Touch is an approach to assessing and treating postural distortion using light touch muscle relaxation. It specifically and directly addresses problems of posture and misalignment of the body's center of gravity. You will be given a robe to dress in, once dressed, I will come back in the room and we will have you stand level, assessing the back of the body from the sacrum and L5 to the skull. You will then get on the table face down, blocks will placed under your hips, and gentle work through the spinal points to release the stuck tension around the spine. Once complete, you will stand plum again as we check the spine. I will leave the room and you can get redressed.
Intra Oral Massage is a comprehensive approach to TMJD, Temporomandibular joint pain, and dysfunction. Common causes of TMJ dysfunction vary but may include trauma from an outside source such as being punched, falling, or a whiplash injury. Bruxism, teeth grinding, jaw clenching, and/or general wear and tear of the joint. The work consists of loosening the muscles around the jaw and neckline. Tightness in this space can add to pain and tension in the head, neck, and shoulders, pain when chewing, difficulty closing the jaw, and clicking or popping of the jaw accompanied by pain. Typically begins with a brief conversation regarding tension, pain points, past injuries, and the session's point of focus. You will remain fully clothed. I will go over and talk through the movements and stretches then, while wearing medical exam gloves, will slowly and gently treat targeted muscles and spaces with light pressure and stretching. Treatment should in no way feel painful or aggressive.
