Guru Smt. Anupama Sathyababu

A Carnatic music teacher by profession, Smt. Anupama Sathyababu has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Carnatic Music from Jain University, Bengaluru. She has been trained by eminent teachers in the field of Carnatic music through whom she has gained deep insights into understanding and appreciation of Carnatic Music. She has completed Junior and Senior Carnatic Music examinations conducted by the Govt. Of Karnataka which provided a solid and early foundation in her music journey.

Teaching Carnatic music has been her passion and she has trained a number of students over the past 15 years. Her school “Lalitha Music Academy” which is located in Indiranagar, Bengaluru attracts students across age groups. Many of her students have successfully completed Junior and Senior Music Examinations and have also performed in various events and competitions.

Besides Smt. Anupama has a number of students across the globe who learn music from her. She has been actively employing and experimenting with multiple formats of teaching be it by way of conducting focussed workshops, one-to-one lessons, group lessons, and organizing a yearly event called "The Composers Day" where students pay respects to composers by singing the compositions of great composers. She also conducts music learning tours by way of visiting the birthplaces of great musicians of the past where one appreciates the context and connects to the glorious history. Being a Computer Science Graduate Smt. Anupama also actively uses technology to deliver music content in formats that students learn and appreciate.

An active learning student herself Smt. Anupama has a deep conviction that learning Music is a Lifelong journey and in the hands of a good teacher a committed student develops a passion for learning and appreciates the beauty and richness in this divine art.
