Thermomechanical simulation of Swiss steel continuous casting, 2014–2017

Plant data were obtained and influences of local cooling on freezing and thermal stress evolution are studied. A moving 2-D generalized plane strain model for stress analysis is developed. Matlab Graphics user interface has been developed.
Design of integrated casting & rolling for steel making using twin belt caster, 2012–2014

Maximum possible casting speed, ingot strength at caster exit, caster length, and secondary cooling & compensation length, were identified through analytical and numerical simulations.
Simulation of direct chill casting process, 2010–2014

Water ejection phenomena were identified and experimentally measured temperature profiles are compared with Comsol model. Thermal boundary
conditions are developed based on infrared thermography.

Influence of cooling water on quenching of nickel plates, 2008–2009

Constitutive modeling of shape memory alloys, 2006–2007
